Dorintosh’s history

Dorintosh is a village in northwestern Saskatchewan, in the Rural Municipality of Meadow Lake No. 588. It sits along Highway 4, with Meadow Lake Provincial Park lying directly to the north.

The village's name is a blend of the names of two members of parliament for North Battleford: Cameron Ross McIntosh, who served from 1925 to 1940, and Dorise Nielsen, who served from 1940 to 1945. Put together, their names gave the community its distinctive name.

Dorintosh became an incorporated village on January 1, 1989.
